Henry Street Settlement opens doors of opportunity for Lower East Side residents and other New Yorkers through social service, arts, and health care programs.
The after-school program at P.S. 134, located at 293 East Broadway, serves children from kindergarten through fifth grade, Monday through Friday, 3-5:30 p.m.
The program provides a safe environment, daily homework assistance, individual and group counseling, and exposure to various enriching and educational activities through collaboration with Henry Street teaching artists, Athletics Coaches, and Department of Education teachers. Staff members — including skilled youth development professionals, college graduates, and college students, add to the diversity and quality of our program by contributing their own experiences and educational backgrounds. Our proximity to Henry Street Settlement’s Abrons Arts Center allows students to attend workshops, performances, and other cultural events. We also take participants to our 301 Henry Street site for athletics and visual arts activities.
