Henry Street Settlement opens doors of opportunity for Lower East Side residents and other New Yorkers through social service, arts, and health care programs.
Henry Street’s Meals on Wheels (Healthy Senior Select) program delivers fresh and frozen meals to more than 1,300 eligible homebound Manhattan residents every day to help them stay healthy and independent in their homes and communities.
Seven meals are delivered weekly, Monday through Friday; “weekend” meals are included with Wednesday and Thursday’s deliveries. Current menu selections include: Standard Fare (Regular), Kosher, Chinese and Latin style meals are available in Fresh and Frozen form.
Are you or someone you know eligible?
Individuals age 60 and above can receive home-delivered meals if they are:
- Homebound and incapacitated due to accident, illness, or physical or mental frailty;
- Isolated due to lack of family, friend or neighbor support;
- Unable to prepare meals because of the inability to shop or cook, lack of facilities, lack of money to purchase food, or special dietary considerations that cannot be met another way;
- Live in Community Districts 1, 2, 3 or 6 in Manhattan
Henry Street Settlement Meals on Wheels is funded by the New York City Department for the Aging and Citymeals-on-Wheels. It is operated in partnership with the Chinese-American Planning Council, United Jewish Council, and University Settlement.
