Ready For Fall, Thanks to Volunteers
By Chelsea Jupin
Employees of Credit Suisse — a longtime corporate partner of Henry Street — have been stepping away from their desks to help with some of the Settlement’s early fall projects.
On Tuesday, September 16, volunteers assisted with a large donation of thousands of pairs of athletic shoes, which were distributed to residents at Henry Street’s shelters, and to other community based organization that operate clinics and shelters. The team from Credit Suisse was responsible for the final sorting of each delivery before pick-up and distribution for each site.
Other Credit Suisse volunteers spent the day outdoors working to maintain our public gardens at our 265 Henry Street headquarters. In addition to weeding and watering the garden, volunteers planted fall foliage to keep this green sanctuary a lovely and welcoming neighborhood spot throughout the season for members of the community.
