Mizuho Financial Group and Allen & Overy LLP donated backpacks filled with essential school supplies to 170 youth who participate in Henry Street programs at the Boys & Girls Republic (BGR) and the Stanton Street residence.
Volunteers from Allen & Overy also hosted a game night at BGR for middle school and high school students. During the event, the volunteers engaged the youth in learning beyond the classroom, as they tested their skills and stimulated their creativity using newly purchased games they brought.
BGR provides after-school and evening programming for youth that focuses on academic enrichment, positive social interactions, healthy attitudes and decision-making skills, tolerance, appreciation of differences and increased community involvement.
