Henry Street PSA “Links” to Workforce Opportunities

By Anna Gardner

If you’ve walked by a LinkNYC kiosk recently, you may have noticed a familiar name. This month, Henry Street Settlement is featured on video screens all across New York City, spotlighting our Workforce Development programs.

Henry Street was selected by the nonprofit media agency F.Y. Eye, which, through its PSA Network, posts public service announcements on digital screens at LinkNYC kiosks and community-partner sites such as health clinics and community centers.

Henry Street is thrilled to highlight our Workforce Development Center, offering resources for both jobseekers and employers. Our PSA features Munir Smith, a former Henry Street team member and graduate of our Building Automation Systems training program, in partnership with Stacks+Joules. Thanks to this training and support from our Workforce Development Center, Munir secured a position in steam operations at Con Edison.

The PSAs will run through Friday, September 13, on LinkNYC kiosks across the five boroughs. Afterward, they will continue for another 10 weeks on PSA Network community partner screens, with locations ranging from Ryan Health in Manhattan to the Mosholu Montefiore Community Center in the Bronx.

For jobseekers, Henry Street’s Workforce Development Center offers free resources including resume and interview coaching, skills development, technical training, certifications, GED prep, and more. For employers, Henry Street’s customized staffing services help match qualified entry- and mid-level workers, providing recruitment and retention support.
