Henry Street Settlement was named on November 6, 2019, the Overall Management Excellence Winner for the 2019 Nonprofit Excellence Awards. We extend congratulations to our outstanding peer finalists, The HOPE Program and Literacy Inc.
“The achievement of this award, like all of our work, was a team effort, and this honor is shared by all of our 700-plus team members at the Settlement, the Board, and partners who make our work possible,” said President & CEO David Garza. “Our strength as an organization is due to the generosity of our supporters, volunteers, neighbors, and dedicated friends who stand with Henry Street, helping us provide vital services to our community.”
Nonprofit New York manages the Nonprofit Excellence Awards program in collaboration with The New York Community Trust and The Clark Foundation. The organization created the awards in 2006 to teach, recognize, and encourage outstanding management practices among New York’s large and diverse nonprofit community.
