Celebrating Safe Streets and Healthy Communities
By Kasia Gladki
What do tattoos, blood pressure screenings and information on Henry Street programs have in common? They were all available at the Henry Street table at the Night Out Against Crime street fair on Tuesday, August 6.
The Lower East Side event, hosted by the 7th Precinct, was part of the 30th anniversary of the National Night Out Against Crime. It brought together members of the community to promote safe streets, and have some fun.
The Henry Street table was busy: nearly 75 people received free blood pressure screenings, children queued to get special Henry Street tattoos and paper flower bracelets, and many others stopped by for information on our programs for youth and adults.
